Say hello to feedburner.google.com

About 10 days ago I tried to move my feedburner feeds to its new location. As you already know, I was blocked by some error message related to one of my feeds being in use. Today, Feedburner replied:

Hello,

We’ve resolved the conflict on our side. You should try migrating again, and it should work this time. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for contacting the FeedBurner team

AdSense maintenance and software niche revenues

Our engineers will be performing routine site maintenance this coming Saturday, January 10th. You won’t be able to log in to your AdSense or Google Ad Manager accounts between 10am and 2pm PST, but we’ll continue recording your impressions, clicks, and earnings. In addition, your ad serving won’t be affected by this maintenance period.

For our international readers, here’s the maintenance start time converted for a few cities:

London - 6pm Saturday
Algiers - 7pm Saturday
Kolkata - 11:30pm Saturday
Jakarta - 1am Sunday
Auckland - 7am Sunday

Without any relation with the AdSense maintenance, did you noticed the new AdSense favicon? :-)

There.com - another virtual 3D world

I have notice an ad with there.com on it and an invitation to join this virtual There community.

Obviously, I have made a little research and I have found that the website is quite old, starting back in December 24, 1997 as The Anonymizer, a free proxy website (surf the web anonymously-like website), an anonymous point of access for all of you who cannot visit different websites from work. Yeah, something like hidemyass.com :-)

What happend with there.com in the last 11 years?

If VLC could convert files…

… I would be the happiest man around because VLC Media Player 0.9.6 is the best player I have ever used because it plays ANY video file I want, even the temp files that DC++ is using :-).

Anyway, as you will see I also use VLC to relate good news. :-)

The first one is about a book, a SEO book, The Non-profit Guide to Search Engine Marketing. It contains a lot of useful information and PeterD also succeeded to put together some extraordinary SEO tools.

The second news is a financial one, related in a way to the actual international financial crisis.

Logistics software provider Descartes Systems Group said it had net income of $2.3 million in the quarter ending Oct. 31, compared to $1.7 million in the same period the prior year. Revenues for the quarter were $17.0 million, up 10 percent from $15.5 million during the same period the prior year.

The online underground economy talks about millions of dolars!

This economical crisis has come with a lot of interesting news. And jokes. “The new economical crisis affected also the social relationships. That being told, the latest news is that women are actually forced to marry for love…” :-)

Anyway, I have found out that maybe there is hope… The November 24th Symantec report details an online underground economy that has matured into an efficient, global marketplace in which stolen goods and fraud-related services are regularly bought and sold, and where the estimated value of goods offered by individual traders is measured in millions of dollars.

Latest results of the internet growth

There are 2 news that made me publish this article. In spite of the fact that we are in the middle of an international financial crisis, seems to me that online businesses are in that narrow corner of those few positive financial signals these days.
