In the very heart of a financial crisis, U.S. citizens spend on video games and hardware!
Living a global financial and economic crisis is not a secret anymore. Banks are falling down, prices are growing, the global buy-power is falling also mostly because people are saving money instead of spending.
There is no business field affected but…

… gaming industry! Yeah, sounds a little bit incredible isn’t it? Seems to me that US population is staying inside the house and play games!
We have noted in the last article that Second Life is doing a lot better than 2007, being now fully recovered from the restriction placed on games of chance in Second Life in mid-2007.
A last week article on cnet.com gave us some data regarding video games and hardware sales:
Despite a slowing economy, sales of U.S. video games and hardware soared 18 percent from the same month a year ago, according to data released Thursday by market researcher NPD Group.
Hardware sales were up 5 percent to $494.7 million, led by Nintendo’s Wii game console. Wii held onto the top spot by selling 803,000 units in October, up from 687,000 in September. The Wii, which has been plagued by shortages, has sold more than 13 million units since its release in November 2006.
Seeing that tourism is kind of going down too, can we rename gaming industry as indoor tourism? :)
This being told, I declare DownloadWin Games section a good place to start passing by the crisis and download free games ;).
