Reading your gmails without an internet connection
3 days ago, GMail Team started to roll out an experimental feature that should help you work even harder. Offline GMail :-).
The functionality is very simple. Once activated, GMail uses Google Gears to build a local cache of your emails.
Without any internet connection, GMail will automatically switch to offline mode. If you send an email, it will automatically be placed in your Outbox and when internet connection is available and local cache is synchronizing with the server, your emails will be sent.
The application is for trains, airplanes, farms, Himalayas and Mount Everest and underwater usage of GMail where, obliviously, there is no internet connection available but you really need to verify your latest bank transactions and online revenues :-), and it’s designed to kill Microsoft Outlook, the famous mail client.
They have a explanatory video, too. Enjoy!
