Feedburner went wrong

It’s the second day people report that Feedburner shows sometimes 400-500 less visitors than usual. I gathered so far almost 100 reports.
After Blogsearch that failed completely, at least the results integrated in WP platforms do, is it the turn of Feedburner? And will Twitter do likewise if they purchase it?

L.E.:Someone says they ckecked and the number of those dissapeared equals, in his case, the number equals those who use Google Reader.

Please leave a comment on how many of your usual readers dissapeared today, i am trying to gather statistics, thank you :)

Why wouldn’t Google own all media?

No really, why wouldn’t Google own all media. I think it would be reliable, a monopole always gives you security. Think of our ancestors, who had to get by whith only one busline, one railway company, telephony company and electricity supplier. They were also reliable in their failures. They were just like a member of the family or a friend, or the dear old lady that you buy your vegetables from.

Now, to be serious, i think you realized i’m talking about the word of the day: Google wants to purchase Twitter. Of course they do. People use it like crazy, we started to search on twitter topics rather than googling things, it’s fast, snappy.

In one word, the best asset of the moment. And if there’s a thing people can’t do without, Google must own it, just like it happened with Feedburner for instance.

I see that readwriteweb published different opinion of media specialists. One says Google could easily reproduce the platform. So what? We do have other platforms, but they’re just not Twitter, as well as other search engines are not Google ;)

I say we prepare for our wonderful weekend and wish them the best of luck if it’s true: the Twitter guys would be getting 20 million, that means twenty cozy islands in the Pacific, and Google would get also what they want: one step closer to controlling all media :)).

Say hello to feedburner.google.com

About 10 days ago I tried to move my feedburner feeds to its new location. As you already know, I was blocked by some error message related to one of my feeds being in use. Today, Feedburner replied:

Hello,

We’ve resolved the conflict on our side. You should try migrating again, and it should work this time. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for contacting the FeedBurner team

Our engineers will be performing routine site maintenance this coming Saturday, January 10th. You won’t be able to log in to your AdSense or Google Ad Manager accounts between 10am and 2pm PST, but we’ll continue recording your impressions, clicks, and earnings. In addition, your ad serving won’t be affected by this maintenance period.

For our international readers, here’s the maintenance start time converted for a few cities:

London - 6pm Saturday
Algiers - 7pm Saturday
Kolkata - 11:30pm Saturday
Jakarta - 1am Sunday
Auckland - 7am Sunday

There.com - another virtual 3D world

I have notice an ad with there.com on it and an invitation to join this virtual There community.

Obviously, I have made a little research and I have found that the website is quite old, starting back in December 24, 1997 as The Anonymizer, a free proxy website (surf the web anonymously-like website), an anonymous point of access for all of you who cannot visit different websites from work. Yeah, something like hidemyass.com :-)

What happend with there.com in the last 11 years?

After 6 months, Google is shutting down Lively

I have never use Google Lively. Actually, I have heard about it today when Google announced that the service will be interrupted on December 31.

Yeah, I know, shame on me ;). As far as I understand it is something like Second Life.

Gmail goes color adding 30 themes!

Gmail fans have been building unofficial extensions to spice up their inboxes for a while, but up til now themes haven’t been an integral part of Gmail. We wanted to go beyond simple color customization, so out of the 30 odd themes we’re launching today, there’s a shiny theme with chrome styling, another one that turns your inbox into a retro notepad, nature themes that change scenery over time, weather driven themes that can rain on your mailbox, and fun characters to keep you in good company.
